Vijaya Ekadashi 2026 (PC- Social Media)

Ekadashi Kb Hai: Vijaya Ekadashi in 2026 will be observed on 13 February. Ekadashi tithi begins on 12 February at 12:22 PM, but Dashami is present on that day. Because Dashami yukta Ekadashi is not considered शुभ for fasting, the vrat will be kept on 13 February, when Dwadashi yukta Ekadashi is available. The tithi will end at 2:25 PM on 13 February. So the correct and most auspicious day to observe Vijaya Ekadashi vrat is 13 February 2026.

Why 12 February Is Not Ideal

On 12 February, Ekadashi starts in the afternoon, yet Dashami overlaps. Scriptures clearly say Dashami yukta Ekadashi should be avoided. Garuda Purana mentions that fasting on Dashami yukta Ekadashi may not give proper results. Because of this belief, devotees wait for Dwadashi yukta Ekadashi. That falls on 13 February this year. So even if the tithi begins on 12 February, fasting is better on 13 February.

Importance of Vijaya Ekadashi

Vijaya Ekadashi comes in the Krishna Paksha of Phalgun month. This Ekadashi is linked with Lord Vishnu. It is said that Lord Shri Ram observed this vrat to gain victory over enemies. The word Vijaya itself means victory. Devotees believe this fast removes obstacles. It gives strength during difficult times. Many also believe it protects from negative karma. Padma Purana describes this vrat in detail and calls it highly powerful.

Simple Puja Vidhi at Home

The puja begins from Dashami day. A Kalash should be established. It can be of gold, silver, copper or even clay. Fill it with clean water. Put mango leaves or sacred leaves inside. Place an idol of Lord Vishnu or Narayan on top. On Ekadashi morning, wake up early and take bath. Wear clean clothes. Sit calmly and take vrat sankalp.

Offer sandalwood, flowers, incense, diya and naivedya. Barley and seven grains can be placed over the Kalash. Chant Vishnu mantras. Read Ekadashi vrat katha. Spend the day in devotion. Avoid anger and harsh words. At night, devotees may perform jagran and sing bhajans.

Dwadashi Paran and Donation

On Dwadashi morning after sunrise, the fast should be completed at proper paran time. The Kalash can be donated to a Brahmin along with other items. Charity is important on this day. Food, clothes or dakshina can be given. It is believed that donating with devotion increases punya. Scriptures say listening to the vrat katha gives benefits equal to big yajnas.

Vishnu Sahasranama and Spiritual Benefits

Reciting Vishnu Sahasranama on Vijaya Ekadashi is considered very शुभ. Reading religious texts helps calm the mind. Many people also chant Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya. Devotees believe this vrat removes life obstacles. It brings peace. Some say it helps in overcoming enemies and internal fears too. Faith matters most here.
