Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory as CBSE Board Exams 2026 begin on February 17 while the India AI Summit runs from February 16 to 20. To avoid delays, students carrying their admit cards or date sheets will get special assistance on roads. The aim is simple, smooth travel and no panic on exam day.

This rare overlap between a major education event and a global tech summit has made traffic planning crucial. Lakhs of students will step out for exams. At the same time, global leaders and CEOs will move across key routes in the capital.

Why This Week Is So Sensitive

The CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exams will continue till April 10. More than 45 lakh students are appearing this year. Exams are being held at over 8,000 centres in India and abroad. In Delhi alone, traffic pressure is always high during board season.

Now add the India AI Summit to that mix. The summit is expected to be one of the biggest AI gatherings hosted by India. Around 15 to 20 Heads of Government may attend. Over 50 ministers and many global CEOs are also expected. That means heavy security, restricted routes, and managed traffic corridors.

It sounds stressful, honestly. But authorities say they are prepared.

What Delhi Police Promised Students

Delhi Police shared on X that it has coordinated with the Education Department. Schools and nodal officers have been briefed. Special arrangements are in place to reduce disruption.

Students carrying valid admit cards or official date sheets will receive help if they face traffic issues. Police personnel on duty have been instructed to prioritise exam-bound students. If needed, quick route clearances may be provided.

That small assurance matters a lot. On exam day, even five minutes feel huge.

India AI Summit Brings Global Attention

The India AI Summit is expected to draw global names. Reports suggest that Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, and Biocon Chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw could attend.

With such high-profile presence, security layers automatically increase. Movement near summit venues may see diversions. Police usually release route maps in advance, advising commuters to avoid certain roads.

For students and parents, checking daily traffic updates becomes important this week.

How Students Can Stay Ahead

Reaching early is the safest plan. Leaving home 30 to 45 minutes before usual time can reduce anxiety. Keeping admit card ready is necessary. It is not just for the exam hall, but now also helpful during traffic checks.

Parents should track live traffic updates. Delhi Police often shares alerts in real time. Listening to FM traffic updates can also help, though many ignore it.

Small planning avoids big tension. That is the key.

Board Exams Continue Till April

While the summit lasts only five days, CBSE exams will continue till April 10. The first few days are always critical because nervousness is high. Authorities know that. That is why coordination meetings were held before issuing the advisory.

The Education Department and Delhi Police working together gives some confidence. Students already carry enough pressure. Road stress should not add to it.

This week will test planning skills of the city. But if systems work as promised, students may not even feel the disruption. For now, the message is clear. Carry your admit card. Leave early. Stay calm. The city says it is ready for you.
