CTET February 2026 will now be held on February 7 and February 8 instead of a single day. CBSE made this change after a sharp rise in candidate registrations across the country. The exam will run in two shifts on both days and will cover both Paper I and Paper II. This decision is aimed at smoother exam management and better coordination at centres.

The Central Board of Secondary Education confirmed that the 21st CTET was earlier fixed for February 8 only. With more candidates applying this time, one day was not enough anymore.

Why CBSE Changed The CTET Schedule

CBSE clearly said the decision was taken in the interest of students and exam centres. With lakhs of candidates appearing, managing crowd flow in one day was becoming difficult. Conducting the exam over two days will reduce pressure on centres and staff.

It also helps avoid last-minute confusion. Entry, seating, and security become easier when candidates are split across dates. Many centres had raised concerns earlier too.

Paper I And Paper II Plan Explained

CTET February 2026 will include both Paper I and Paper II across February 7 and 8. Each day will have two shifts. One shift will be for Paper I and the other for Paper II, depending on the candidate’s allotment.

Paper I is meant for those aiming to teach Classes 1 to 5. Paper II is for Classes 6 to 8. Some candidates appear for both papers. CBSE will mention exact paper, date, and shift on the admit card, so checking it carefully is very important.

Exam Cities And Centre Details

The CTET February 2026 exam will be held in around 140 cities across India. This wide spread helps candidates avoid long travel. Still, centres may feel busy due to high numbers.

Candidates must reach the exam centre at least one hour before the exam starts. Late entry will not be allowed under any condition. CBSE has repeated this rule clearly to avoid last minute issues.

Admit Card And Important Instructions

Admit cards will carry all key details like exam date, shift timing, paper type, and reporting time. Candidates should read every instruction written on it, not just once but properly.

Any mismatch in details should be reported early. Carrying valid ID proof along with the admit card is mandatory. Items not allowed inside the exam hall must be avoided to prevent trouble.

What This Means For CTET Aspirants

For many candidates, this change is actually helpful. Two days mean less crowd, better focus, and smoother movement at centres. It also reduces panic on exam day.

CTET remains one of the most important exams for teaching jobs in India. With dates now fixed for February 7 and 8, candidates should plan revision accordingly and stay calm. A clear head always helps more than rushed preparation.
