Delhi CM SHRI School Admissions 2026 have started from February 27. The Directorate of Education has opened the online registration window for Classes 6, 9 and 11. The last date to apply is March 12, 2026 till 11:59 pm. Admission will be through an entrance test.

Who Can Apply This Year

Admissions are open only for Delhi residents. Students must have passed Class 5 for Class 6 entry, Class 8 for Class 9, and Class 10 for Class 11 in the 2025–26 session. The school must be recognised and located in Delhi. The eligibility will be checked as on March 12, the final date of application.

The process is being managed by the Directorate of Education under the Delhi government. Applications are online only. No offline forms, that is very clear.

Seats And Reservation Rules

There are 75 CM SHRI Schools participating in this admission cycle. At least 50 percent seats are reserved for students studying in government and government-aided schools in Delhi. This includes DoE schools, MCD schools, NDMC schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas.

Minimum qualifying marks are fixed. General category students need at least 25 percent marks to be considered in the merit list. SC, ST, OBC Non-Creamy Layer and Children With Special Needs get a 5 percent relaxation. Final admission will depend on school-wise and category-wise cutoff. So scoring more always helps.

School Preference Rules You Must Know

Students applying for Class 6 can choose two school options. Those applying for Classes 9 and 11 can select three schools. Once a school is allotted, no transfer request will be accepted. So choose carefully. Think twice before clicking submit.

For Class 9, stream preference must also be selected at the time of application. Students can choose STEM under Paper I HE21CS, or Finance, Humanities and Performing & Visual Arts under Paper II. They may choose one or both papers. After allotment, stream change will not be allowed. That rule is strict.

Exam Pattern And Marking Scheme

The entrance test will be OMR-based and objective type. For Class 6, there will be 75 questions carrying 300 marks. Duration is 150 minutes. There is no negative marking. The question paper will be bilingual.

For Class 9, the paper will have 100 questions for 400 marks. Time allowed is 150 minutes. There will be negative marking, one-fourth mark deducted for each wrong answer. The paper will be in English only.

For Class 11, again 100 questions for 400 marks. Duration is 180 minutes. One-fourth mark will be deducted for wrong answers. English medium only.

The test for Classes 6 and 9 is expected in the last week of March 2026. For Class 11, it is likely to be held in May 2026. Exact dates will be notified separately.

Why CM SHRI Schools Matter

These schools are positioned as model government institutions. Infrastructure, teaching standards, and focus on modern curriculum are part of the plan. Many parents see them as strong alternatives to private schools.

Competition is expected to be high. Every year, applications rise. Preparation should begin early, especially for Class 9 and 11 where negative marking applies.

If you are planning to apply, do not wait till the last day. Fill the form carefully. Double check documents. Choose schools wisely. March 12 will arrive fast, and once the window closes, there is no second chance.
