How Cut-Off Is Decided

Cut-off marks show the minimum score required for selection. It changes every year. Factors like number of posts in a state, total applicants, reservation policy and previous merit trends decide everything.

In high competition states, even 95 percentile may feel less. In some regions, lower percentile has worked too. It really depends on local demand and seat count.

State-Wise Expected Cut-Off 2026

Delhi may again see cut-off between 96 and 100 percentile. Haryana last year selected only 100 percentile candidates till multiple lists. Uttar Pradesh is expected around 94 to 100 percentile.

Telangana and Himachal Pradesh may remain in 95 to 100 range. Jammu and Kashmir could stay between 93 and 100. Madhya Pradesh might close around 90 to 100 percentile.

States like Bihar and Assam earlier saw cut-offs from 85 and 86 percentile onwards. Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu showed variation, sometimes lower in later lists. Gujarat earlier went as low as 72 percentile in some cases.

North East region had wider range, even around 60 percentile in special cases. West Bengal, Punjab and Odisha mostly stayed above 82 percentile.

These are expected ranges. Final numbers can surprise anyone.

Once your name appears, document verification becomes crucial. Original certificates will be checked carefully. Medical fitness test also happens.

Many candidates miss out at this stage due to small mistakes. So keep documents ready. Stay alert for official updates only.
