JEE Mains Result 2026 Session 1 will be declared shortly on the official NTA websites. The final answer key is already released, and nine questions have been dropped. Students who appeared in those shifts will get full marks for the dropped questions. The result link is created but not active yet.

Final Answer Key Released

The National Testing Agency has published the final answer key for the BE and BTech papers. This confirms that nine questions across different shifts have been removed. For these questions, candidates will receive four marks each, as per the marking policy.

This move brings relief. Many students had raised objections earlier. After reviewing challenges, NTA made the final corrections. Now the answer key is final, and no more changes will happen.

How Marks Will Be Calculated

The marking scheme remains the same. For every correct answer, students get four marks. One mark is deducted for each wrong answer in MCQs. Unanswered questions carry zero marks.

For numerical value questions in Section B, negative marking applies too. If a question is dropped, full marks are given to all candidates who appeared in that shift. This ensures fairness, though it may slightly change percentiles.

Percentile scores will be shown subject-wise for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The overall percentile will also be displayed on the scorecard. Raw marks are converted into percentile scores based on performance in that shift.

When and Where to Check Result

The result will be available on the official websites of NTA. Students must log in using their application number, password, and date of birth. Once the link becomes active, scorecards can be downloaded easily.

It is important to check the website address carefully. Fake websites often look similar but use slightly different domain names. Only the official NTA portals should be trusted.

The scorecard will include candidate details, subject-wise percentile, and total percentile. All India Rank and cutoff will be announced later, after the second session is conducted.

Marks vs Percentile: Why It Matters

Many students get confused between marks and percentile. Percentile does not mean percentage. It shows how you performed compared to other students in your shift.

Because the exam is held in multiple shifts, percentile normalisation is used. This keeps the process balanced. Even if one shift was slightly tougher, the percentile system adjusts it.

So do not panic if your raw marks seem lower than expected. The percentile may still be strong depending on overall performance trends.

What Happens After Result

After Session 1 results, students can decide whether to appear in the April session. The best of the two scores will be considered for final ranking. Cutoff for JEE Advanced will be announced later.

Counselling and seat allocation will follow once all sessions are completed. Top engineering colleges will accept scores based on final ranks.

For now, keep login details ready. Check only official updates. The final answer key is out, nine questions are dropped, and full marks for those are confirmed. The result announcement is the next big step, and it can come anytime. Stay calm, you are almost there.
