UPSC CAPF 2026 Notification Out: 349 Posts, Last Date March 12

The Union Public Service Commission has invited applications for Assistant Commandant posts in CAPF 2026. A total of 349 vacancies have been announced. These include 106 posts in CRPF, 108 in BSF, 70 in CISF, 53 in SSB and 12 in ITBP.

Who Can Apply

A bachelor’s degree from any recognised university is required. The minimum age is 20 years and the maximum is 25 years. Candidates must be born not earlier than August 2, 2001 and not later than August 1, 2006. Age relaxation applies as per government rules.

Physical Test Standards Explained

For male candidates, height must be 165 cm. Chest measurement should be between 81 and 86 cm. The 100 metre race has to be completed in 16 seconds. The 800 metre run must finish within 3 minutes 45 seconds. Long jump requirement is 3.5 metres with three chances. Shot put of 7.5 kg must reach 4.5 metres.

For female candidates, height must be 157 cm. The 100 metre race should be done in 18 seconds. The 800 metre run must be completed in 4 minutes 45 seconds. Long jump requirement is 3 metres with three attempts.

These standards are strict. Many candidates clear written exam but struggle here, so early preparation helps.

Application Fee and Payment Mode

The application fee is Rs 200 for General and OBC candidates. Female candidates and some reserved categories are exempted from fee payment. The payment mode is online only.
