With changing times, societal perspectives, modes of expression, and the language of dialogue are also evolving. Today’s generation does not wish to merely read words; it seeks to understand the real stories hidden behind them. In such a scenario, the role of literature has become far more expansive, sensitive, and responsible than before. Recognising the needs of this changing era, Sahityasindhika is emerging as a literary platform with a fresh vision and renewed direction. The objective of Sahityasindhika is not limited to publishing creative works alone, but to bring the voices, struggles, and lived experiences of writers to the wider society. It is a platform for those creators whose stories aspire to move beyond the pages of books and reach the hearts of people.

With this objective, Sahityasindhika is organising a special literary event titled “Kalam Ka Karwan”, scheduled to be held on Saturday, 21 February 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Café Regal, Bistupur, Jamshedpur. The programme will be anchored by members of Humans of Jamshedpur. “Kalam Ka Karwan” will not be confined to poetry recitations or routine literary discussions; rather, it aims to provide a meaningful platform for the untold stories, struggles, and life experiences of writers. Stories that have so far existed only in books will find voice here, along with the emotions, conflicts, and lived realities that often remain unseen by the general public. To ensure that the literary ideas and creative dialogues associated with the programme reach a wider readership and to sustain a continuous literary environment among writers, Shabdvaani has joined the initiative as a social media participation partner.

The literary event will be further enriched by the presence of prominent literary and social figures from the city. Renowned writer, social activist, and politician Anni Amrita will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest, while senior journalist Chandrashekhar Singh will be present as the Special Guest. Both guests will lend direction to the programme through their literary, social, and ideological perspectives. During the event, an interactive dialogue will be organised with writers and creators from Jamshedpur, focusing on significant themes such as the social role of literature, the responsibility of writers, freedom of expression, and creative struggles. This session is expected to be inspiring not only for established literary figures but also for young and emerging writers.

The highlight of the programme will be the session titled “Struggles and Untold Stories of Writers”, where selected writers from Jamshedpur will share their literary journeys, early failures, societal responses, self-doubt, family support, and the recognition they found through literature. This session will bring forth aspects of writers’ lives that generally remain beyond the reach of conventional stages and publications. Sahityasindhika believes that literature is not merely meant to be read, but serves as a powerful medium to nurture sensitivity, awareness, and critical thinking within society. Viewed in this light, “Kalam Ka Karwan” is being regarded as a significant and meaningful step towards strengthening literary consciousness in Jamshedpur.

The organisers have appealed to literature enthusiasts, young readers, writers, and individuals with creative sensibilities across the city to participate in this special literary event, connect with the untold stories of writers, and become part of this literary journey.
