Nurjahan Noorali Jamani has won the Women’s Class 7 title at the UTT Para Senior National Championship 2025-26 in Indore. With this victory, she becomes India No.1 in her category. The win comes after her international reclassification from Class 6 to Class 7. Now, she is aiming for a Top 6 finish in Asia to qualify for the Asian Para Games.

A Strong Comeback Story

Nurjahan Noorali Jamani returned to competitive table tennis in 2022 after a long break. She is a polio survivor since the age of five. The journey was not easy. Training again at 39, competing against younger players, it takes courage honestly.

Earlier, she competed in Class 6 and was ranked World No.12. After medical reclassification, she moved to Class 7. That change reset her world ranking to No.28. The competition became tougher, faster, sharper.

But she did not slow down.

Dominating the UTT Championship

At the UTT Para Senior Table Tennis National Championship 2025-26, Nurjahan looked focused from the start. She moved smoothly through the knockout rounds. In the final, she defeated Dhwani Shah with a confident 3-1 score.

The match was intense. Long rallies. Sharp returns. She stayed calm when it mattered most. That composure made the difference.

This title pushed her to India No.1 in Women’s Class 7. A big leap, and fully deserved.

Chasing the Asian Dream

Currently ranked No.8 in Asia, Nurjahan now wants to break into the Top 6. That is the key for qualification to the Asian Para Games later this year. The next four months will be crucial.

She plans to compete in international tournaments in Italy, Spain and other circuits. Every match will count. Every ranking point matters.

She said this win helped her regain momentum after reclassification. Confidence, once shaken, feels steady again.

Balancing Work and Sport

Outside the court, Nurjahan works as a Junior Officer at Adani Airport Holdings Limited in Ahmedabad. Managing office shifts and training schedules is not simple. Some days must be exhausting, no doubt.

Support from Adani Sportsline through its Garv Hai initiative has played a major role. Funding, exposure and structured mentorship helped her compete internationally without worrying too much about expenses.

Backing matters. Especially in para sports, where resources are often limited.

More Than Just a Title

This victory is not just about one medal. It signals resilience. A reminder that setbacks can turn into stepping stones. Moving from World No.12 in one class to restarting at No.28 in another could discourage anyone. Yet she chose to fight.

Indian para sports is slowly gaining strength. Stories like hers push it further.

As she steps into a decisive international phase, expectations will rise. Pressure too. But sometimes pressure builds champions.

For now, Nurjahan Jamani stands at the top in India. And she is not done yet.
